Instagram resolution and aspect ratios
Instagram says photos between 320 and 1080 pixels wide retain their resolution when the aspect ratio is between 1.91:1 and 3:4. A 1080px-wide source is a practical target. Stories and Reels use a 9:16 canvas, but interface controls can cover the top and bottom.
