Does PNG keep transparency?
PNG supports transparency. Transparent WEBP or PNG sources should keep alpha when converted. JPEG sources do not contain transparency, so their background remains opaque.
Will converting to PNG make the file larger?
Often yes. PNG is lossless and can be larger than JPG or WEBP. Use PNG for transparency, sharp UI assets, screenshots, and master files; use WEBP or JPG for smaller web delivery when transparency is not needed.
