Image Dynamic Range Analyzer

Measure occupied luminance levels, clipping, percentiles, and an approximate stop range from rendered image pixels.

Upload an image to inspect occupied tones and clipping.

Numeric metrics

Turn pixel distributions into values that can be compared consistently.

Rendered range versus camera dynamic range

This tool analyzes the tones stored in an exported 8-bit image. P1 and P99 reduce the influence of isolated extremes, while clipping percentages reveal pixels near pure black or white. The stop value is an approximation for displayed pixels and cannot measure the full sensor range available in a RAW capture.

Questions fréquemment posées

Does this measure camera sensor dynamic range?

No. It measures the rendered pixel values in the selected image, not unprocessed sensor data.

Why use P1 and P99?

Percentiles provide a practical occupied range without letting a few isolated extreme pixels dominate.
