Image Histogram Generator

Analyze tonal distribution across 256 red, green, blue, alpha, and luminance bins, identify clipping, and export the chart or raw data.

Upload an image to plot red, green, blue, and luminance values across 256 bins.

RGB and luminance views

Overlay all three color channels or isolate red, green, blue, or perceived luminance.

Linear and logarithmic scale

Use linear scale for dominant tones or logarithmic scale to reveal low-frequency values.

Clipping and data export

Measure extreme shadows and highlights, download the chart, or export every histogram bin as CSV.

Using image histograms

A histogram counts how many pixels have each intensity value. Data packed near 0 indicates dark tones, while values near 255 indicate bright tones. Peaks at the extreme edges may indicate clipped detail, but dark backgrounds and white graphics can also create legitimate edge peaks.

Често задавани въпроси

What is luminance in the histogram?

It is perceived brightness calculated from weighted red, green, and blue values.

Why use logarithmic scale?

It makes small histogram counts visible when a few bins contain most pixels.
